Sister Quilt Tops

I ~~found~~ rescued a few years back from the flea market.

Both in excellent condition.

No holes, fading or worn spots.

Needed a little batting, backing and binding.

TLC.

Just look at these fabrics......

I love hand stitching the binding to the back.

Then it's machine washed & dried.

Giving it that wrinkled vintage look.

And 100% cotton everything

makes it soooo soft.

The quilt measures 72" x 86".

That's 1,548 - 2 inch squares

handpieced.

The quilting adds so much texture.

"Lil Sis" is completely finished.

"Big Sis" measures 81" x 89"

That's 440 - 4 inch squares

handpieced.

Both tops have exactly the same fabrics.

My guess is she made the 4" square top first

and then cut the scraps into 2" squares using all her leftover fabric.

No waste.

The same yellow reproduction print backing fabric

and blue binding on both.

A few more nights in front of the TV and she'll be ready for the wash.

Can you imagine how happy the piecer would be
to see her quilts finished?

Have Grandma will travel.

We spent a long weekend in Tomah

cheering for our favorite team.

Son #1 coaches the 6th grade girls team.

My granddaughter can't believe girls didn't/couldn't

play sports in the "olden days".

I've been to MLK several times the last couple weeks and

heading out again on Sunday.

Grandma duty calls.

Hubby had 2 Dr appointments at the VA in Madison.

Going to have a hip replacement this Spring.

Here he is sporting his new hat.

While in Tomah we went "junkin"

and this was his score.

Now he really looks like a Grandpa!

I found a cast iron round (14") pan

perfectly seasoned for $10.00.

A steal!

Not much else going on.

Winter has finally come to stay.

Remember my love of "rescuing" old quilt tops?

Well, this scrappy yellow stars top was a YARD SALE find.

Picture it stuffed in a bag a top a table.

Wasn't very big (30 x 45) but all hand pieced

and scrappy-scrappy-scrappy.

I added the homespun plaid border, navy flannel backing

and yellow binding.

Isn't it darling??

To think someone thought it was garbage....

I haven't crocheted in years.

Except towel edgings of course.

This scarf was so fun, easy and

quick (2 hours, once I got the hang of it).

I made ~~3 4 5~~ ok 6!

I used a size "P" hook instead of the H because I

tend to crochet tight.

Here are my little gals modeling for me.

Unfortunately, Mom didn't make it in the pictures.

Speaking of towel edges.

I stitched Sun Bonnet Sue up over the holidays for a quick gift.
Green on a striped linen towel.

Here she is in redwork.

Sooo cute with the black puppy.

THERE'S NO SNOW IN WISCONSIN!

Yep, you read that right.

I've been busy packing up my Christmas decorations,

seasonal clothes, odds and ends.

Trying to

Here's a project that I finished up last year but never shared.

Remember the jelly roll races?

Well....I had a stack of red and blue fat quarter flannels

screaming to be made into a quilt.

So, I cut each FQ into strips 3" by 22".

Stitched the strips together, using the same technique.

Quick and Easy.

The top finished longer than I wanted

so I used the excess to made a flannel throw pillow.

Bordered and backed with navy flannel.

Bound in red plaid, cut on the bias.

Manly, yes?

I was a good girl this year (fooled Santa)

and found a Thrive tablet under the tree.

I'm crazy about it!

I can sit in my easy chair at night and check blog friends

and that bad-bad-bad

PINTEREST.

I only say that because it is so addicting.

Really.

An Early Celebration

We celebrated Christmas last weekend with the grandkids.

What a blessing to have a houseful of laughter!

(Even if the Packers lost)

When I look at my grown sons and their beautiful families

I realize how fast the years go by.

My granddaughter LOVED her quilt and flannel pillow cases.
Now if she would just catch the "quilt bug".....

I know what your thinking.....

Oh yeah, one like no other......

It's going to be a new holiday staple!

It's beginning to look and smell like Christmas around our house......

Twinkle lights, carols, and baking my family favorites.

And .....

On top of all that decorating and baking I managed to get
a little sewing time in.

My first attempt at a 2 fabric/color binding.

On the printed side of my flannel I attached a solid pink

and on the solid pink side it is printed.

Did that make sense?

I used these instructions but cut my binding strips 1/4" larger

to allow for the bulky flannel.

It definitely takes a bit longer to prepare the binding

but I love the effect on the quilt.

This is actually two pieces of flannel quilted and bound for a

Christmas present.

I can't wait to use this technique again.....

give it a try.

Catching Up......

We had a fabulous time in California.

The weather was perfect on the Central Coast.

Walking on the beach, getting my toes wet in the Pacific.

Heaven.

Spend time with our California boys.

Visited our favorite winery.....

Good friend, Peggy Sue (and baby Mia), joined us for a few days.

Then we headed to Las Vegas!

Where the family gathered to celebrate

Dad's 80th Birthday.

We love ya Dad!

I must admit to buying a couple of CA lottery tickets, crossing my fingers,

wishing and hoping, thinking if I won, I'd just stay.

Dreaming.

Back to reality....

I managed to complete the October Birdie block.

Won't be long and the quilt will be finished.

Love the spiders!

Tried a new recipe

Bite Size Apple Pie

OMG, so easy and delicious!

I did change it up a bit.

I used brown sugar in place of white.

And peeled my Granny Smith apples.

Served warm.....mmm.... with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Did you think I forgot about you?

I spend 4 days last week in Milwaukee with the grandbabies.

Came home for a day, packed my bags, and then off to our Fall Quilt Retreat.

And did I mention I'm leaving next Friday

for a 10 day visit with my family on the West coast?

Oh yeah, life's moving fast.

I was in charge of the "goody bags" and

door prizes.

A little something to get thru the weekend.

This is what I worked on most of the retreat.

I made 6 Fall tablerunners.

I'm frantic, stitching the bindings,

need to finish up before I leave.

I woke this morning and thought...

I better get my cozy flannel quilts out!

With this chill in the air it feels like Fall has arrived.

I've been busy but haven't finished anything to take pictures of.

I have the cutest Folk Art Country quilt on my machine

that I'm going to work on today.

Wait til you see the whole quilt!

I'm working on my September Birdie stitchery block.

And...

Collecting fabrics for the 15 minute table runner.

Our Quilt Guild is donating/sewing 40 runners for

Holiday Cheer Baskets this year.

Remember the "Warm Wishes" link from last week?

Well, one of my quilting buddies, pieced one for her son's wedding gift.

Didn't it turn out beautiful?

I'm sure the Bride & Groom will love it!

Look at the perfect "love" fabric she found.

The chocolate brown color adds such richness.

And the striped inner border, a perfect accent.

At our August "Saturday Sew Day"

I demonstrated how to make bias binding

using my favorite "tube" method.

Last weekend we had a "family gathering" at my son's home in Tomah.

It was so nice to see family and catch up on their lives.

Hard to believe I'm one of the "old aunts" now.

Where have the years gone?

I was able to corral my grandbabies for a picture.

They had such a good time, jumping on the trampoline, playing whiffle ball,

and, of course, a water balloon fight.

After all, isn't this what life's all about?

At my house.

Except that the "Brewers" are kicking butt!!

Hubby is a St Louis Cards fan.....what can I say?

I made this quilt for him..... Christmas 2004.

It is a free pattern called "Warm Wishes"

from Quiltmaker magazine.

It's easy to piece! A rail fence really.

Take a closer look.

Unfortunately, the fabric is no longer available.

(Except on Ebay for $75.00 a yard, I kid you not).

I purchased the logo blocks from a seller on Ebay.

Speaking of Brewer fans,

I just have to share this picture of my grandson.

Again.

He's gonna hate me when this shows up

in his high school year book!

I did quilt a Sampler for my sis-in-law in MN.

Her first quilt.

She did a great job. Love the colors!

I am going to deliver it this weekend at a family get together.

And of course, my favorite, the back.

The quilting add so much texture.

Fried Chicken and Pie

Spiral phone chords, fried chicken and pie!

Did you see it?

The movie “The Help”?

Equal parts laughter and tears.

It's a beautiful story of women. And friendship.

The movie will not leave any fans of the book disappointed.

It follows REALLY close to the story and is perfectly cast.

Sissy Spacek takes the cake (pie) as the senile mother.

Watching the Guiding Light on a black and white television

and eating her ambrosia salad.

She was an absolute hoot!

There are no male characters that stand out

except for the editor of the local paper

who wants his door kept closed at all times.

He's convinced that

"one day they'll figure out smoking cigarettes is bad for you."

Here are the three "Best Actress in a drama" nominees for 2011 in my book.

Can you tell I LOVED the movie?

The Elkhorn Flea market was fantastic!

Hubby and I arrived at the gate about 6:45 a.m.

A perfect cool morning, no rain in sight.

I found some great linens.

This adorable kitty crib sheet and pillowcase.

And these gorgeous embroidered pillowcases.

With hand crocheted trims.

The workmanship is exquisite.

And I rescued another quilt top!

Just in a pile of "stuff' on a vendors' table.

Waiting patiently for me to find it.

A Dresden Plate.

75" x 95".

Someone put a lot of work into the hand piecing

and then just to be discarded......

Breaks my heart.

The basting is still in some of the plates!

Notice the rows are not straight?

None of them matching.

Charming......isn't it?

I think of all the time and energy I spend worrying about

color placement and accuracy.

Look at all the scraps.

Makes you wonder....

Was this quilt going to be a gift...

or was it needed to keep her family warm?

Why wasn't she able to finish it?
Who packed it away?
Each top I buy is a piece of lost history.
Lost is the name of the maker and what her intentions were.
Can you imagine how happy she will be
to see her quilt finished?

Busy with summer and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Finished the August Birdie BOM.

Look at the perfect birdhouse fabric I found for the backing.

It's going to be sew cute!

I've sold tons of treasures, and the folks are really friendly.

Just be sure you have a few hours, yes, hours to see all the eye candy.

Whoever came up with that idea ......pure genius.

Going to "Show & Tell" my Jelly Roll 1600 quilt.

Not that I have it quilted.

I can fit 22-24 magazines in the box.

Approximate weight 11 lbs 9 oz..

I checked the USPS site and the box can be shipped media mail

for about $7.00 or so.

Less than the cost of one new magazine.

While the majority are Fons & Porter's

"Love of Quilting"

there are a few Quiltmaker, Country Living and

Romantic Homes in the mix.

I hate to throw them away but I've gotta do something

I'm running out of storage space!

Isn't it a beauty!

I love the brown and pink combination with the dark red accent.

When I stopped by to make a "special delivery" she ran and put it on her bed.

Our sweet baby girl spent the weekend with us.

I put her high chair on the front porch Sunday morning

so she could read the paper and have coffee with Papa and I.

She loves watermelon and yogurt.

Her Mommy & Daddy purchased a "new to them" pop up camper

and made their maiden voyage.

They camped close by so we were able to stop in for a visit.

Needless to say, the older grandbabies loved it.

Well, I'm off to clean and organize.

I see a garage sale in my near future.......

SUPER FAST Jelly Roll Quilt

Okay, I maybe a little late for the party.....

but have you seen this video?

I couldn't believe it.

Piece a jelly roll top in 35 minutes?

(That's the record time).

I was fascinated to say the least.

Of course, I had to try it.

It took me about 90 minutes

start to finish.

I started with 2 half price jelly rolls from JoAnn's.

Each one contained 20 strips.

You need 40, or 1600 inches.

The most important thing to remember is to cut the first strip in half.

(you won't need it)

This enables the seams to be staggered.

Next, sew all the strips together, end to end, on the diagonal.

I believe this is what took so long to do.

Or sew it seams.

I just picked a color, at random, no set pattern.

Then, find the two ends of the long strip and stitch, right sides together.

Cutting loop apart at end.

You now have a L-O-N-G (800") strip that is 2 jellyroll strips wide.

Find the 2 ends and stitch again.

Your strip is now 4 strips wide and 400" long.

Repeat stitching ends 4 more times

your piece should be 32 strips wide.

Your Finished!

My top measures 50" x 62".

Add a border and you've made a nice size lap.

Clear as mud?

Last night I kept thinking about the box of 2 1/2" strips I have cut.

Hmmm.

My strips were 22" long so I chose 40 and used the same technique

for a baby quilt. I didn't time myself but is went together QUICK.

This one I pieced the strips together straight edge.

Really scrappy.

Just what I had on hand.

Finished size approximately 34" x 50"

Notice the strips are vertical?

With a little more thought I maybe able to make it work!

What a wonderful charity project for our guild.

Can't wait to share it with them next month.

Which is fine with me.

Life without drama is good.

I did receive a package in the mail!

Christmas in July.

I've been busy quilting customer quilts.
Sue loves-loves-loves her embroidery machine.
She always leaves wide open spaces for my quilting.
The wavy edge really adds something extra.

And Lin's "Contemporary Blues".
It's hard to see but I quilted circles.
Hoping to soften all the straight lines in the design.
Adding to the 3D effect.

This week is much of the same.
Trying to stay cool.
~~Working~~ Quilting.
And anxiously awaiting for August 12th when

this movie opens.
I enjoyed the book so much!
Have you seen the previews on TV?
Sissy Spaceck looks like the perfect choice for a
movie set in 1960's Southern Mississippi.

I just have to share these fabulous photos

My customer, Kathleen, was the Featured Quilter

at her local show this year.

What an honor!

I emailed her for permission to post her pictures and she said

"Sure,

but make sure you say that YOUR quilting was over the top!"

Awww shucks.

Kathleen displayed 35 beautiful quilts.

Many I quilted and showed here on my blog.

Her love of traditional pieces works well with my

style of longarm quilting.

Her crazy quilt won the Judge's Choice Award.

Becky made a crockpot of BBQ as they call it here in WI.

I call them sloppy joes.

Whatever you call them they're delicious!

Stay cool and remember what I tell my hubby.

"At least you don't have to shovel heat!"

Stormy Weather

WOW!

A storm passed thru this morning and left our deck a mess.

Guess I'll be looking for a new table at the end of the season.

We went to MLK on Sunday to celebrate Piper's First Birthday.

What a cutie!

I did a little stitching this week.

Finished up my BOM's for June & July.

And sewed 3 rows of my quilt together.

I'm half way there!

When the last block is posted I'll be on the home stretch.

NO BAKING.

But.........it must be refrigerated 8 hours before serving.

Family Gathering

Please bear with me as I post family pictures

from our 4th of July celebration.

Family & friends peek at my blog for updates.

My Dad, from Las Vegas, brother & sister in law, from CA

and Uncle from MI were here for the long weekend.

It was wonerful to see my Dad, so healthy and strong.

He will be 80 in October and goes to the gym

3 days a week and loves to swim.

Puts me to shame.

I met my sister in law, Maria, for the first time.

We are kindred spitits!

Wish we lived closer to each other.

She loved my quilts and took pictures to show her friends!

I shared my recipe box and a few old church cookbooks.

Nothing better than bonding over recipes.

She has such a kind and loving heart.

I'm so glad they found each other.

I hope they come back to visit every year!

Up and running again.

Oh how I missed my computer.

But I sure got a lot done!

Didn't realize how much time each day I spend

checking emails, blogs, and surfing.

Last weekend the 3 grandbabies came for a visit.

Talk about active.

I just wish the weather had cooperated.

But they made due.

I am at the library now.

Could not go one more day

Yes, my computer was shut down.

Yes, it was plugged into a surge protector.

Did not know you must unplug it from the wall

to be completely safe.

An expensive lesson to learn.

Left Overs & A Give Away

Whether it be food or fabric.

Does this red work look familiar?

In March
Debbie at Busy As Can Be
offered this free embroidery pattern.
I stitched it on a tea towel
only to discover that it was waaay
too pretty to get dirty.
(Picture grandson, running in, wiping his
cute little dirty-grubby hands on it).
So, I cut the tea towel and used my leftover fabrics
from my red work quilt to make this table topper.
It measures about 25" and so cute on my table!

There was even enough left over
bias binding to finish it off!

Thanks again Debbie for the pattern!

Rockford, IL "Memories of Mom"

Quilt Show.

A beautiful pieced and appliqued quilt

took Best of the Show.

Her detail work was exquisite.

Oh, the time it took to make this one.

Love this bright "candy wrappers" pattern

and the curved cross hatching!

Look at all the curves & points.

And ribbons!

I've never seen this layered star pattern before

have you?

Sew cute in the reproduction prints and buttons.

The show theme was "Memories of Mom".

A great quilt and story.

And here's my entry. No ribbon.

Looks pretty "vanilla" in comparison to the other quilts.

I was just thrilled to see it hanging straight.

I was nervous putting on the sleeve

with the scallop edges.

2 Quilt Shows This Weekend!

I'm in quilter's heaven.

I want to show you my entry for the Rockford IL show.

Redwork Vintage Baskets

The pattern is called Aunt Bea's Parlor

Black Cat Creations

I love the nostalgic embroidery basket designs.

It took me most of the winter to

hand stitch the 20 blocks.

Of course, I used a different setting

than the pattern called for.

And I scalloped the edges.

The scallop edge really gives

the quilt a quaint feel.

And quilted feathers complete

the look.

Have you ever scalloped the edges of a quilt?

It's not as hard as you think.

A little math and

You Tube.

The binding must be cut on the bias,

(not straight edge).

Here are easy to understand

visual directions for

bias binding I've ever-ever found.

Print the pdf file for reference.

File it away.

One day you'll thank me.

May Basket Lotto

At our Friendship Stars guild meeting

next week we are having a

May Basket Lotto.

Have you ever participated in a

quilt block lotto?

It's FUN!

Here is my finished 12 1/2 inch block.

Our lotto lets you make any basket design you'd like.

Because we have a lot of beginner quilters

in our group

I wanted to post an easy block with instructions

for those that need help.

Here is how I drew it out.

I'm no artist, as you can see.

You need to cut:

Background fabric

5- 4" squares (1/2 sq triangles)

5- 3 1/2" squares

Floral Print

3- 4" squares (1/2 square triangles)

Basket Print

2- 4" squares (1/2 square triangles)

1- 3 1/2" square

Using the 4" squares

make 6 half square triangle units
of floral/background fabric

and 4 basket/background fabric.

Trim to 3 1/2" square.

Lay blocks in order shown below.

Stitch into rows 1 thru 4 and

Press row seams in opposite directions

so seams lay flat.

TaDa!

Wasn't that easy?

The more blocks you make

the more chances you have to win all the blocks!

Enough to make a quilt!

We had our Easter celebration on Saturday in Milwaukee.

The grandbabies enjoyed an egg hunt and

Papa pitching the baseball.

I baked my son's favorite carrot cake.

Loaded with coconut, raisins, and nuts.

He feels the Hummingbird cake doesn't even

come close in comparison.

The Good, Bad & Ugly

The Good

A charity quilt for HospiceCare, Inc.

A bright pink "happy" backing.

The Bad

I remember years ago playing a game in Sunday School.

We stood in a circle, about 12 of us, and the teacher

told the first girl a “secret”.

Then that girl whispered it to her neighbor.

And the story went from girl to girl.

When it came to the last person she was

asked to repeat the secret out loud.

Then the Sunday School teacher

held up a piece of paper with the original secret.

The truth was completely distorted having been repeated 12 times.

That is what I have been dealing with this past month.

Gossip spread like wildfire thru our quilt guild.

Not much truth was told in the end.

I've been a member of five different guilds, in five different cities.
And not once have I seen such rude behavior or
ugliness spoken at a meeting.
Hopefully, it is behind us now and we will move forward

promoting our love of fabric, quilting and friendship.

The Ugly

Aren't retreats wonderful?

Only trouble is

it takes me a week to recuperate!

We had sew much fun.

Laughed, ate lots of chocolate,
laughed, went to bed way toooo late.

I did manage to piece a top (still needs borders)

and work on a few other projects.

But didn't complete anything.

This is the studio.

Enough room for 24 quilters!

Lots of windows and sky lights.

Kitchen area.

Unfortunately, it was tooo chilly to eat on the deck.

But we did have our morning coffee out there.

And this beautiful view from the deck

we didn't see.

Not that green here in Wisconsin YET.

Connecting Threads

I just received my order from Connecting Threads

and couldn't be happier!

The fabric quality is excellent, has a nice soft silky feel.

And the price can't be beat!

Just let me say, no affiliation, no paid commercial.

These fabrics are from their Firecracker line.

A real country red and bright royal blue.

I purchased enough of the red prints for backings.

At $3.00 a yard, how could I not!

Love the blue "friendship star" print.

Going to be borders on my BOM guild quilt.

I also ordered their thread for the first time.

White in the middle, with natural on the left and antique on the right.

The antique is a perfect match for muslin fabric.

A real bargain at $2.49 a spool.

100% Egyptian cotton #50.

I will give it a test run this weekend at retreat.
Have you tried it yet?

These 2 fabrics, are labeled as "seconds".

Seconds meaning the print is wavy.

I looked closely and was unable to see any major waves or distortion.

An affordable backing, priced at $2.28 a yard.

Don't get me wrong.

I love the major manufacturers "designer fabric" lines.

But at $9.95 a yard and up .........

I need to find a few alternatives to make my hobby affordable.

I ordered 2 spools of their Essential PRO thread.
Thought I'd give it a try.

I love to have a variety of threads available for customer quilts.

Remember my thread wall?

 Freehand roses and rosettes.

With a paisley background.

This is the customer quilt I was working on for last 2 weeks.

King size plus.

Love the pieced back.

Snowbound

Not here in WI.....thank goodness!

Just in fabric.

I completely changed directions on the setting for
my embroidered "Snowbound" blocks.

My inspiration came from
LMS's Birdie BOM.
Hmm, I just happen to have 2 charm packs of
Mary Engelbreit's The Caroler.

Love the bright colors with the white.
I debated whether or not to use the black prints.
I'm so glad I did.

I had enough fabric left to add a piano key border.
Now to get it quilted by Christmas.

Look at this spectacular quilt my customer Sharon pieced.
You know how I love 1930's reproduction prints!

The pattern was in the Spring/Summer 2008 issue of
Quilt Sampler magazine.
A million half square triangles.

Love those wide open spaces for quilting!

The back can be used as a whole cloth.

Wool batting really shows the quilting details.

Well, that's my life up to the moment.
Rainy and yucky outside.
Guess I'll just have to stay inside and play with fabric.
And work on customer quilts.
Pretty quiet here without the grandbabies.

Toy Story 3 with Mac & Cheese

That's how we spend our weekend.
The 4 yr old prince and 2 year old princess came for a visit.
Papa and I had so much fun!
Plus, I was able to get my coloring practice in.
Went for lunch at Mickey D's to use their playground
and burn off some of that energy.
I forgot how fast their little motors run!

Look at all this lovely bias trim.....

and cut cotton fabric like butter.

soda and popcorn for $12.50.
Shared, being the key word here.
Total $27.50.
That's a lot of Red Box movies
and pop corn let me tell ya.
I know some movies need to be seen on the BIG screen.
Avatar, being one.
But really.
Who will be able to afford to go to the movies before long?
Forget families.

Oh WOW, have I been busy.
Machine quilting!
I'm so happy!

I haven't been on my machine for months with this broken arm.
I needed to put a practice top on and just go for it.

These Sunbonnet Sue blocks were rescued from a garage sale years ago.
Waiting patiently to be made into a quilt.
I pieced random strips of reproduction fabrics around the block.
Wouldn't the gal who hand stitched Sue
be delighted to see her quilt finished?
I

Four pieces from my stash were used for the backing.
I can't wait to wash & dry it
to get that cuddly, soft, wrinkled vintage look.
Surely, one of my 3 granddaughters, will take a liking to it.
Can you tell I love feathers?

is my usual table topper.

Well, that's my life up to the minute.

Tea Towel Edges

I sat and stitched edging on dish towels this weekend
while visiting with Mike's brother & sister in law.
They drove up from St Louis on Friday.
And left this morning with snow falling.

Remember the crocheted pillow case edging

I did last year?
Used the same technique.

The cherry & bee embroidery is from Bird Brain Designs.
The letters I marked with a blue disappearing ink pen.

Here is the blanket stitch foundation which I
stitched only on the back.
It made those cute little cream stitches on the front.
I'm kinda liken it, don't you?

Of course, I had to make a fabulous
chocolate dessert for company!
Brownies with coconut.
Moist & deee-lious.

Life Got in the Way

I didn't get any sewing or quilting done this week.
Life just got in the way.
I wish I could say I finished up a few projects.....

Sew I wanted to show you a few of my favorite vintage quilts.
And my latest x-ray.
What a combo, huh?

This utility quilt top was found at an estate sale years ago.
The piecer used a large variety of scraps and plain muslin.
Just a simple 9 patch.
I quilted it using muslin for the backing and
it washed up beautifully.
It's on my guest bed and everyone comments
on how soft & cuddly it is.
Simple is good.

This beauty is from Bloomfield IA, hand stitched in the 1930's.
Soooo many 1" squares.

And look at the cheddar gold/orange and green.

This Trip Around the World is quilted
in my favorite overall pattern.
The Baptist fans.
Wonder why they're Baptist and not Methodist?

And I want to show you my latest x-ray.
I've been going to rehab now for 2 1/2 months and
I'm still not able to lift my arm very high.
It hurts like heck!

So back to the Orthopedic Dr I went.
And after one look it was obvious.
The metal plate is hitting my shoulder bone
when I raise my arm.
Poop.
Looks like I'm going to have the plate & screws removed.
I swore that the next time I was "put under" it was going to
include a face lift or tummy tuck! LOL

We are expecting 4-6 inches of snow tonight.
Looks like I will be stitching by the fire to stay warm.
