Vintage Basket Summer Quilt

Had a wonderful trip to Tomah this weekend.
My beautiful granddaughter and I had lunch at the European Cafe
(fanciest place in town) and then spent the afternoon doing what we love to do best.
Baking. Cookies.
Didn't I tell you she is a cutie!

Here is the new recipe she found for us to bake.
The vanilla pudding makes the cookies soft & chewy.
VERY GOOD!
Makes about 6 dozen.  Click on the recipe to enlarge and print.

I've been on a binding kick lately.
Practicing those scallop edges again.

I may have to trim my front scrubs or find a new place to take quilt pictures.

This quilt is called a "summer quilt".
Hand Embroidery on light weight muslin.
This quilt was made NOT to have a batting and backing
but to be used in warmer months.
Here is a photo of the top section with
hand embroidered flowers for the "pillow tuck".
The hand work on this piece was so beautifully done.
The back side is as neat as the front.
I used a butterfly floral backing and binding.
The top has some permanent stains from age and being folded.
But the beautiful hand embroidery stitches shine thru on this piece.

Working on customer quilts this week.
Staying cool in my studio.

No more quilts to bind.
Back to yo-yo city.
Only 500 more to go.

Stay cool!
