  1. Karen,
Glad to see that you are working so hard on the road to recovery, and that you have family and friends to love and encourage you.

  2. You are doing AMAZINGLY well (to my unprofessional untrained eye)! Yes, we find out who our true friends are when smacked in the face with real life don't we?

My late husband was stricken with a fatal neurological disorder that made it more and more difficult for him to walk, talk, breathe, everything. One of his work friends, and my brother, started out taking him out for coffee several times a week just so he'd have "something to do." Eventually that was too much for him, and they brought coffee to him, and would force other friends to come along. People would say "I don't know what to say to him" - he had difficulty talking - and the friend and my brother would say "talk about old times and what a good friend he was to you - he knows he's going to die, it's not a secret."

The best friends are the ones that are honest with you, aren't they? It sounds like you are taking good care of YOU, and that's good.

  3. Didn't mean to be a "downer" - just glad to see you have such a supportive group of friends circling around you. Someday I bet you get to return the favor to someone!

  10. Please take care of yourself and find out why you had the stroke. My husband had a stroke eight years ago so we know what you are going through. Hugs!
