Major storm, last Wednesday, fried my computer.
I am at the library now.
Could not go one more day
without checking my emails
and blog friends.
Will be up and running again by the end of the week.
Yes, my computer was shut down.
Yes, it was plugged into a surge protector.
Did not know you must unplug it from the wall
to be completely safe.
An expensive lesson to learn.

Karen....I didn't know that either! I guess I've been very lucky in the past.....I will certainly be unplugging during the next storm. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your computer. I hate to ask what might seem like a stupid question, but why in the world would you need a surge protector if you are unplugging the computer? Isn't that why you buy a surge protector? Oh dear I know so little about this stuff...
