It doesn't have to be perfect

to be beautiful!
Here's my proof.

Notice how crooked the rows are?
How kiddie-whompis (great word) the circles are?
No smooth lines here.
No small applique stitches
But what a charmer!
Look at all the different fabrics.
Scraps from her life.

Wouldn't you love to know the story?
How this quilt top ended up on a table at a flea market in WI?
Was this the quilt maker's first quilt? or her last?
Why wasn't she able to finish it?

I'm thrilled to find these treasures.
To be able to complete the work of a woman
I do not know, whose name is lost forever.
I'm sure she would love the red polka dot binding
don't you?

  1. That binding just makes it! Well done! And I think the funkiness of this quilt gives it so much charm! Love it!

  2. You've done her proud!! I have three different sets of antique quilt blocks, that you have just reminded me that I MUST finish...so the story can be told for years to come!!!
