It all started when I needed curtains for the window.
I went digging thru my stash of fabrics and found this black & cream toile.
Perfect.
I used black rick rack to trim the edges. And a striped fabric on the top ruffle.
Then last Friday, I found these plates at Polly's Counting Your Blessings, Friday Flea Market.
Are they perfect or what?
Here's the quilt that's on the bed. A vintage "Trip Around the World".
The black squares just "pop".
Each square is 1" with no borders.
The unknown piecer had a wonderful sense of color. Can you imagine how long it took her to hand piece this top? Yes, hand piece. I wonder why she was unable to finish her masterpiece?
I'm thankful I found it. And was able to quilt it and have it grace my bed.
And to share it with my guests.
What a welcoming spot for some guests! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love your guest room. 'Especially the touch of bright pink with the white and black. Do you have room for me?
